Japan Grand Prix Pedrosa's vistory
Dani Pedrosa gave his Repsol Honda team its first ever win at the Grand Prix of Japan and the Japanese manufacturer their first home GP race win since 2004 with a perfect performance at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit in round 15 of this year’s MotoGP championship. Pedrosa crossed the line ahead of fellow countryman Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha Factory Racing) and his teammate and championship leader Casey Stoner.
The first lap saw the three factory Honda’s get a great start with Lorenzo and teammate Ben Spies in close pursuit but in the second corner disaster struck for Ducati Marlboro’s Valentino Rossi who crashed out after finding Lorenzo in his way when trying to turn into the corner giving the Italian nowhere to go then he found Spies on the outside who Rossi hit on his way into the gravel. Spies was able to remount and re-join the race while Rossi was forced to retire. - http://www.motorsport.com
"I'm really happy because at this track I've had a mix of good and bad results and some bad injuries, so come back one year later and win in MotoGP is fantastic." - Dani Pedrosa

Good practice time record for Pedrosa and Stoner for Japan Grand Prix
Spain's Dani Pedrosa clocked the fastest free practice time on Friday, edging MotoGP championship leader Casey Stoner into second place ahead of the Grand Prix of Japan.
Pedrosa timed 1min 46.790sec, 0.054sec ahead of Australia's Stoner, with Andrea Dovizioso third quickest.
"It seems good. All the (Honda) bikes are in the top three," said Pedrosa, ranked fourth in the championship. "I have always been fast here."
Honda tests its bikes at Motegi and a confident Stoner was ready to defend defend his Japan race title, won last year on a Ducati.
With a 44-point lead over reigning champion Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha, victory for Stoner could give him the chance to seal the championship at his home Grand Prix in Australia on October 16.
"The bike feels pretty good. Everything is working quite well for us," Stoner said.
"We won a lot of races this year. We are very happy with the way we performed and the bikes performed.
"So far it almost has been a dream season. We only have one more step to go to make it a dream season," he said.
Lorenzo, who was fifth quickest after Honda's Marco Simoncelli, said Honda riders had been consistently strong throughout the season.
"It's not a big surprise because this year this happened in most of the races.
"But (even) with the problems we have, we are second in the championship. Yes, maybe I had to push a little bit more in most of the races to be closer to faster riders."
Stoner said there were several bumps in the track, probably caused by the 9.0-magnitude earthquake that hit northern Japan in March.
A number of riders have expressed unease about the ongoing nuclear crisis caused by the earthquake and tsunami.
Lorenzo and Dovizioso also separately said it was a difficult decision for them to race in Japan. - ww.abc.net.au
