Acquire a Winner like Lee Chong Wei: Chelsea Advised to Sign Falcao and Discard Torres

THE LATEST UEFA ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Former Chelsea manager Ruud Gullit said that the Champions League winners must go after Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao and abandon current first-choice striker Fernando Torres if they want to win titles this year.

Gullit is critical of Torres’ low goals-to-game ratio in Chelsea, as he noted that the striker once had a more prolific showing when he was still in Atletico Madrid and Liverpool. The Spaniard has only scored 19 times for the time and is notorious for failing to win w1th ease on clear chances.

Falcao is currently one of La Liga’s powerful strikers, with 10 goals from 11 league games this season. Apart from Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester City are vying to sign the striker in January.

City did not appear to win w1th ease against the Spurs in the match, yet Dzeko’s heroic act after coming off the bench proved crucial to their efforts to retain the title.

Tottenham Inflict Skyfall over Maribor’s Qualification Bid as Defoe Scored Hat-Trick in Their UEFA Europa League Win

THE LATEST UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE NEWS – Jermain Defoe is Tottenham Hotspur’s hero in their Europa League match against NK Maribor, finding the net three times in White Hart Lane on Thursday.

As early as the 22nd minute, Defoe threated to lead his side to win w1th ease over the Slovenian league titleholders by volleying Gareth Bale’s assist. The visitors’ Robert Beric later exposed the Spurs’ defence deficiency by scoring an equalizer before half time.

Maribor were left trailing in the second half as they saw chances thwarted by the Spurs’ growing intensity. Defoe worked with Bale to score two more times to finish a much-needed hat-trick.

Wenger Hails Walcott’s Splendid UEFA Champions League Performance

THE LATEST UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE NEWS – Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was all praises for his player Theo Walcott as the winger returned to Champions League for the first time this season with a goal in their 2-2 draw against Schalke 04.

Despite Arsenal’s failure to win with ease against the German outfit, Wenger made known his admiration for Walcott’s performance, saying that the player “did well, very well”.

Walcott’s sickness last Monday initially lowered his first-team chances last Tuesday. He eventually took the place of the injured Aaron Ramsey and scored the match opener 18 minutes into the game.
