Title goal for Lotus Renault

Formula 1 team Lotus Renault have revealed they want to secure the world drivers' championship in the next three years.

They  managed to finish in fifth place last season as Red Bull and Sebastian Vettel dominated proceedings once again to secure a clean sweep of the titles.

Lotus have two new drivers at the helm for the next campaign, with former world champion Kimi Raikkonen being partnered by Romain Grosjean.

Team principal Eric Boullier has revealed the team's ambitious plans, as they hope to compete with the likes of Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari in 2012.

He said: "The plan is to be world champions in two or three years' time."

The newly named team, formerly know as Renualt, secured the title with Fernando Alonso back in the seasons of 2005 and 2006 and will be hoping either Raikkonen or Grosjean can perform a similar feat in the coming years. - http://www.setanta.com
