Button: Our time is coming
Jenson Button feels McLaren are edging closer to the world championship and he believes that 2012 will provide him with his best opportunity to win one for the team.
Button moved from Brawn GP, now Mercedes, to McLaren after winning the world championship in 2009 and, while he has not added to his titles, he has gone from strength to strength with the team.
He won three races in 2011 to finish second behind Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel in the championship but, more importantly, he out-scored team-mate Lewis Hamilton is seven of the last nine races.
The Briton is delighted with how the season went and he feels the time is coming when McLaren will beat Red Bull to the world championship.
"We haven't quite won the world championship in the last two years, but I have won quite a few races with this team and I feel that our time is coming," Button said.
"We are in a very good position. And it couldn't be better really so we are very excited about 2012.”
Reflecting on his time at McLaren, Button added: "We have spent two years together now. It has flown by, and it is quite scary that it has been two seasons already.
"My aim was to arrive at McLaren and win races, and be with a team that can always give me a chance of winning the world championship.
"I feel that we have really improved and I feel that with a tiny bit more improvement we can fight for more victories in 2012." - http://www.setanta.com
