Hamilton collied again with Massa 12Bet update 11/01

Lewis Hamilton has apologised to his team after another collision with Felipe Massa, even though the McLaren driver wasn't to blame.

The British ace could only manage a seventh-place finish at the inaugural Indian Grand Prix on Sunday, leaving Hamilton looking downbeat and falling to fifth in the drivers' standings.

Yet again it was a coming together between Hamilton and Ferrari's Massa that hampered the 2008 world champion's chances of challenging for top spot, with his McLaren car needing a front wing replacement.

Despite Massa receiving a drive-through penalty, Hamilton felt the need to apologise for what he described as 'yet another disastrous race'".

He said: "I'm sorry for the team. I just can't apologise enough to my team for the negativity that surrounds me nowadays.

"I just have to try and keep my head up and recover from this for the next race."

Meanwhile, McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh feels the continuing good form of Jenson Button is having a negative impact on Hamilton, with Whitmarsh admitting "for any driver, the first driver you want to beat is your team-mate." - http://www.setanta.com
